n the South of Europe the
Pyrenees mountains materialise the frontier between France and Spain.
In this area, small producers and co-operatives founded an association
in order to make their range of products more widely known and appreciated.
When the Association pour la promotion des produits fermiers et
artisanaux des Pyrénées was created in 1984, the
following targets were aimed at :

promotion of a comprehensive range of products under the "Pyrenees"
banner
- marketing
both in France and abroad being a place of thoughts, exchanges
and collaboration between members
- creating
a structure and a bunch of tools to act as an authentic single
company
Nowadays, things have changed for Saveurs des Pyrénées
:
36% of its turnover is achieved
on export sales, mainly towards Europe, the USA, Japan, Canada and
Australia
it is a unique interlocutor for
a comprehensive range of products
it attends international trade
shows such as SIAL (Paris), ANUGA (Köln), Fancy Food Show (New
York)…
- the member companies launched
HACCP quality programmes. |
